Colorado city says big autonomous-shuttle pilot is ‘super valuable’

Nearly three months after a suburb of Denver launched one of the largest deployments of autonomous vehicles in the United States, riders are reporting that the self-driving shuttles have been “super valuable,” said Tyler Svitak, the director of the nonprofit Colorado Smart Cities Alliance, the organization behind the vehicles.

Nation’s largest fleet of autonomous vehicles launches in Colorado

The nation’s largest fleet of low-speed, autonomous electric shuttles is being deployed in Colorado.

The first of three locations launched Tuesday at Colorado School of Mines with nine driverless, zero-emission EZ10 shuttles.

The autonomous shuttle buses will connect students, faculty, staff and the public with destinations in Golden and around campus that currently lack convenient mobility options, said Autonomous Vehicles Colorado (AvCo).

Autonomous vehicles, high-tech jobs in rural Utah

When you think of high-tech jobs, do you also think about Silicon Valley in California? Well, one company is breaking that mold by developing self-driving vehicles in rural Utah.

Tucked away in the mountains of northern Utah in a town called Peterboro is Autonomous Solutions, Inc.

“We try to take people out of what Mel (CEO Mel Torrie) calls dull, dirty, and dangerous jobs,” ASI Director of Engineering Brian Stewart explained to ABC4.
